Christian website blocked at work
« on: July 13, 2011, 02:49:48 PM »
Anyone know what goes on at jesus-is-savior.com? I don't. It's blocked at work due to "racism and hate." I'll post a screenshot if my internet connection stops biting ass.

That was the website that once I read over parts of it, made me tell my wife that I'm an atheist.  After reading it there was no way that I wanted to be associated with the Christian religion.  It's full of conspiracy ideas, flat out hate, and lots of Bible verses to back up their ideas.  It's an extremist website but the funny part, at least for me, is that you can hear some of the ideas from that site echoed from an ordinary pulpit on Sunday.
Here read a book.  It's free.

rev45 is correct.  The site seems to be a nest of conspiracy theories and a very militant theology.  All in all, a very sad thing to see (to me anyway).

How sure are can we be that this site is not some sort of POE?

Looks like it's played straight down the line, by someone with a certain Christian viewpoint:

Katy Perry is becoming an icon for the bisexual and gay community. Isn't that sad. Katy is a spoiled brat, who has become an icon in the gay and lesbian community, with a tattoo of the holy name of “Jesus” on her wrist, and she says speaking-in-tongues is “normal” to her. It is blasphemy. Perry brags that both of her parents are Christian pastors, who “channeled God” during her upbringing by speaking-in-tongues. It is evil. Katy Hudson claims she was saved forever while listening to the  Queen Rock band. It is so obvious that Miss Perry is mocking God, blaspheming the Lord Jesus Christ, and making utter fools out of carnal and backslidden Christians who idolize her.

This person believes that speaking in tongues is evil.
I strive for clarity, but aim for confusion.

The second link deals with Wiccans complaining about how they are portrayed on the site.

To be honest, with the small amount of time I spent reading the site, I did not pick up any signs of "satire". The only satire I see is the same as Westboro Baptist accidental self-satire.

Odly enough, the very first time I read up on the Westboro crew and saw interviews with them they struck me as a POE. In real life. I had the thought that these people were exploiting the first amendment for financial gain while smearing christianity.
But I don't know. I stopped paying attention to them.

This one should be blocked, but probably isn't:

There are some spectacular individuals propping up that group.
